Our Mission
Lawson Design & Engineering was founded with the vision of
providing innovative and affordable lighting solutions. We
will enable our customers to reduce energy consumption and
their impact on the environment while improving the quality of
light through practical and profitable steps.
To realize this vision, we are developing partnerships with
manufacturing and distribution companies. We are striving to
become a market leader by consistently exceeding our Customers
expectations; providing them with best of breed technology
solutions for LED Lighting. We will continually communicate
with, and learn from our Customers. We will keep on top of
today's' and tomorrow's technology, no matter how fast it
moves, to ensure our Customers always have the best products
and designs available to them.
To retain and build the team necessary for these
developments, LD&E fosters a corporate culture that attracts
and retains creative, practical, and energetic employees who
are driven to reduce the "Cost of Light" and its impact on the
environment.
LED
Applications
Rapid advancements in LEDs and the global need for energy
efficient lighting alternatives are creating opportunities to
replace conventional commercial light sources with LED
lighting for general illumination. LED lighting is gaining
momentum for many reasons, and chief among them is energy
efficiency.
With the landmark signing of the Energy Policy Act of 2005,
and other nations similarly devoting resources to energy
conservation, the potential impact of LED lighting is
increasingly gaining national and global attention. A 2001
Department of Energy study estimated cumulative savings of $98
billion by 2020 once LED lighting reaches the performance
crossover with conventional sources. Lawson Design &
Engineering believes that this day is approaching faster than
expected.
LEED Construction and LED
LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is a
certification program developed by the U.S. Green Building
Council to encourage sustainable building practices through a
voluntary, consensus-based rating system. Buildings may become
LEED-certified at various levels of excellence by accumulating
points in five key areas: sustainable site development, water
savings, energy efficiency, materials selection and indoor
environmental quality.
The LED Benefit:
The inherently efficient nature
of LED lights makes them an ideal choice for accumulating LEED
points attributed to lowering energy consumption. As digital
devices, they integrate seamlessly with control systems,
allowing building owners to provide individually controllable
lighting and
control the impact of interior LED lighting. Their
directional output helps to curb light trespass.
